Spring Cleaning!

I sit here on a beautiful sunny mid-April morning contimplating what will be a day of spring cleaning my thoughts turn to those of us who have less than perfect filing systems...like kitchen drawers, filed with unopend statements for everything to our bank account and investment account, to annual life insurance statements and unsolicited credit card offers.

Now is the time to get organized! clean out the mess of papers and get a clear understanding of the goals you acheived or or failed to acheived during the past year. As a prominent bank's tag line says - "You may be richer than you think!" If you have excess savings that are not earmarked for investments, open a high initerest savings account, but be diligent. Don't get sucked in on a promise of high interest, only to find out you need to have $10K before your earn that higher rate.

Check with your credit card providers about lowering your interest rates, if you are prone to carry a balance a small reduction in the interest rate can save you hundreds of dollars. Consolidate your bank accounts. Many people have accounts a different banks, but consider the service plan charges you are paying, on average you could be spending $10 a month or more. Talk about "Hands in your pocket!"

Small consideration given to these items can have significant results to your bottom line...

Give a whole new meaning to spring cleaning!

All the best!
